The Meaning of Life

Love
I could get into my reasons for this perspective, my history of trouble and trials, the various hard truths I’ve experienced to lead me to this rather simple seeming conclusion, but I’d rather you take my word for it on this occasion. Love. Just love. Love one another, love yourself, love the life you’ve been allowed, love the pleasure and the pain of the experiences you accumulate, and hold onto love no matter how hard the world fights to steal it away from you.
I don’t think its possible for a human to love every other human unconditionally, I certainly wouldn’t be able to nor expect anyone I know to hold such an ambition in their heart. Even so, its worth loving some people unconditionally, and expanding that charity to as many as you’re able. Trust, respect, encourage, support, protect, and seek to understand without any requisite for giving of self to the point of sacrifice for the benefit of others. No one deserves it, there’s no way to earn it, and when it is true, nothing can jeopardize it. As such, it should be wisdom that leads you to love so deeply, for another could easily take advantage if the love you gave to them was inequitable with theirs for you. That said, I’m sure there are better people than I out there able to endure that injustice without worry or complaint.
Losing a loved one, especially permanently, inflicts a wound upon the heart I couldn’t begin to advise how to mend. Dealing with my own scars has proven that no one ever taught me how, and I’m still fumbling in the dark for a solution. Despite the pain, I’m thankful for the memories that I retain before the loss. When I die, I hope those that I love can remember the good times they had with me in similar fashion.
Such a little word to express so many different kinds and depths of feeling, all of which should be positive in my perspective. Some people misrepresent it, which should be a crime, or undermine its strength for their own reasons which I can’t begin to fathom, but this blog isn’t about them.
This little note to the multiverse is a confession of my truth. No amount of success will supplement a lack of love. The emotional connection of our mind, heart, and spirit with others can last an instant within the blink of an eternity, but that spark carries more weight than any of us can fully comprehend. Love is just as much the stuff of stars as we are, is stronger than the burdens of the world, endures past death, and offers sufficient hope to push through pain while reaching for purpose. It can be a comfort, motivation, shield, and so much more. We’re all different creatures, but that doesn’t make any of us lesser. Love one another, and be open to it yourself, and you might just get what I’m rambling about.
